What is a Sustainability Event?

Our Sustainability Event aims to link young people with cutting-edge careers professionals in sustainability, to raise awareness of sustainable careers, and the importance of sustainable skills for their future and of the planet.

What is the impact of a Sustainability Event?

The Sustainability Event will provide young people with a deeper understanding of the environmental crisis and the opportunities available to them if working in sustainability. Students are then able to make informed and positive decisions about their career path and lifestyle – enabling them to contribute to addressing environmental challenges and giving them the best chance to find purpose and professional success. Young people will learn about the wide range of careers in sustainability, not just ‘green careers’ and will feel enthused and educated about their next steps.

From our research we found that this encounter type is most appropriate for the development of young people from 11 and up. Older pupils approaching decisions about post-16 or post-18 education and training participate in sessions targeting specific career readiness skills.
